November 15 – December 1, 2021, Field Research in Tanzania

From November 15 to December 1, 2021, Senior Research Fellow Dr. Nadezhda Khokholkova and Junior Research Fellow Valentina Bryndina conducted field research in Tanzania, supported by the Russian Scientific Foundation (project №18-18-00454 "Historical Memory as the Evolutional Factor of Socio-Political Systems in Sub-Saharan Africa and Mesoamerica"). The study focused on the historical memory of European colonialism.

On November 26, 2021, a public lecture by the Senior Research Fellow of the Center for History and Cultural Anthropology Nadezhda Khokholkova "The Legacy of Julius Nyerere in the context of Pan-Africanism and Afrocentrism" was held at the Russian House in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).

From October 15 to 23, 2021, Field Research in Tanzania

From October 15 to 23, Ivanchenko Oksana Vasilyevna carried out a research in Tanzania, which was a continuation of the study within the framework of the RFBR grant No. 20-09-00361 "Cultural memory of the XIX century Arab slave trade and its influence on interethnic relations in modern Tanzania." During the research, 3 settlements were visited: Dar es Salaam, Kilosa, Mbwamaji, where 6 interviews were taken.
