Professor Alexei Dmitiy Mikhailovich Bondarenko,
Deputy Director
Institute for African Studies
Moscow
Russian Federation
Dear Professor Bondarenko,

It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I express, on behalf of the staff at the Embassy of the Republic of Namibia and on my own behalf, our appreciation to the Institute for African Studies, for having organized the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Namibia's Independence at the Institute. This gesture truly demonstrates the strong bonds of friendship and solidarity that exist between the Institute and the people of Namibia. The event was well attended and a great success. The various speakers all made reference to the important role the Soviet Union I Russia played during Namibia's liberation struggle and its active involvement in the liberation and development of the African continent as a whole. Let me take this opportunity to reiterate our commitment to maintain and continue working together for further strengthening the already excellent relations and cooperation that exist between the Institute and the Namibian people.

Letter of gratitude
